Today In The History Of Billy The Kid

May 16th

On this day in 1879, Lew Wallaces' testimony is read aloud in the Dudley Court of Inquiry. Capt. C. H. Conrad says that Dudley threatens to hang him if he left the Fort.
Conrad claims that Dudley said "In four or five days this thing will be settled and you can go where you please". Others testified against Dudley and his remarks about the military helping in the Five day Battle.
